Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the "El Center" application (developed under the STEPS brand) collects, uses, and protects data when teachers, students, and educational centers use the application. By using the application, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Scope of the Application

"El Center" is a platform for managing educational centers and private tutoring services. It is used by teachers to manage their classes and students, and by students to follow their own educational activities. The application does not sell any products and does not provide a general social networking service.

Information We Collect

We collect only the following categories of data, limited to what is necessary to operate the service:

• Account Information: Name, email address and/or phone number, and password (via a secure authentication service).
• Student Information: Class/grade and group assignment, attendance records, and financial data (fees and payments).
• Educational Content: PDF files and educational videos (Reels) uploaded by teachers.
• Announcements: Announcement content published by teachers to a class or group.
• Notification Data: Device identifier used by the notification service (FCM Token) to deliver alerts.
• Personal Preferences: Such as the selected Adhan (prayer call) sound within the application.
• Basic Technical Information: Limited information related to the operation and performance of the application.

Why We Collect This Information

The data described above is collected solely for the following operational purposes:

• Enabling secure sign-in for teachers and students.
• Allowing teachers to manage classes, groups, and students.
• Recording and tracking attendance.
• Managing each student's fees and payment records.
• Displaying educational content and announcements to the relevant users.
• Sending notifications related to the educational process.
• Enabling personal preferences within the application (such as the Adhan sound).

We do not collect any data for purposes unrelated to operating the educational service.

How We Protect Your Data

• All data is stored on Firebase infrastructure, provided by Google, which is a secure and globally recognized infrastructure.
• Security Rules are enforced to restrict data access so that each user can only access the data authorized for their role (teacher/student).
• Data is transmitted using encryption in transit.
• Access to sensitive data is restricted and limited to what is required to operate the service.

Firebase Services Used

The application relies on the following Firebase services provided by Google:

• Firebase Authentication: To securely manage sign-in for teachers and students.
• Cloud Firestore: To store account data, classes, groups, attendance, and financial records.
• Firebase Storage: To store uploaded PDF files and educational videos.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): To deliver notifications to teachers and students.

If Firebase Analytics or any analytics tool is added in future versions of the application, this policy will be updated to describe the data collected through it and how it is used.

No Sale of Data to Third Parties

We do not sell user data to any third party under any circumstances.

Circumstances for Data Sharing

Your data is not shared with any external party, except in the following cases:

• Where sharing is required by law, a court order, or a formal request from a competent authority.
• To protect the rights of the application, its users, or the public where legally required.

User Rights

You have the right, at any time, to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of any inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data or account by contacting us at the email address provided below.

Account Deletion

Account deletion, along with associated data, can currently be requested by directly contacting our support team via the email address provided in this policy. Future versions of the application may offer an in-app account deletion feature, and this policy will be updated accordingly when that feature is introduced.

Children's Privacy

"El Center" is not intended for direct, unsupervised use by children. Student accounts are created and managed by the responsible teacher or educational center, and the responsibility for the accuracy of student data entered lies with the party that created the account (the teacher or center). The application does not knowingly collect data directly from children independent of teacher or center supervision.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the application's services. Users will be notified of any material update through an in-app notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
